Niilo Mittens Junior is a mitten pattern knitted from the cuff to the tip. The simple and rhythmic cable pattern gives the mittens a finished look, and the snug fit is achieved with a small amount of negative ease. The thumb is shaped using gusset increases, which creates a natural and comfortable fit.
The pattern is named after our firstborn.

Finished mitten circumference: approx. 12 (13) 14 (14) 15.5 cm
Finished mitten length: approx. 15 (16) 17 (19) 20 cm
Needles: 3.5 mm double-pointed needles or an 80 cm circular needle if knitting with the Magic Loop technique, or the needle size needed to achieve the correct gauge
Gauge: 28 sts = 10 cm in cable pattern on 3.5 mm needles
Yarn: approx. 40 (50) 60 (80) 100 g of DK weight yarn (e.g., Drops Merino Extra Fine, Sandnes Merinoull)
